This online training is designed for 14 to 25 year olds to learn about climate resilience, focusing on initiatives and projects in the Inner Forth area.

Whether you live in the Inner Forth or elsewhere, you’ll discover how to get involved in preparing your place and communities for climate change challenges. You’ll also learn about green careers and various ways to engage in climate action, steer your professional pathway, and build a positive future for yourself, your community, and your place.

What you’ll achieve

You’re offered a stepping stone to becoming a Climate Ranger, gaining the initial knowledge and awareness needed to shape the future of the Inner Forth landscape alongside others from your generation.

The aim is to open up your perspectives for your future while inspiring you to participate in preparing your landscape for the next generations of people and species that will be impacted by climate change.

The Course Structure

Level 1: Your Climate Ranger Foundation

You'll build a strong understanding of Climate Resilience and start learning how to build it.

Level 2: Get to Know Your Environment

Understand the environment around you and its impact on building resilience.

Level 3: Prepare For Future Challenges

Learn how to prepare and adapt to challenges you might face in the future.

Level 4: Take the lead!

Take initiative and lead efforts to build a resilient future.

Level 5: Springboard To Your Future

Use your knowledge to springboard into new opportunities and build a sustainable future.

The 10 Journeys

10 Journeys

Throughout your training, you’ll travel through the Inner Forth on ten journeys, learning about the area and how it adapts to climate change. You’ll meet professionals in the green sector leading amazing projects to build climate resilience in the Inner Forth landscape!

Build Your Collection

After every journey, you’ll add objects, places and skills to your collection, all related to what you discover and learn during your training. You’ll assemble an essential kit for your Climate Ranger role and keep souvenirs of your journeys.

Who’s Involved

Many people, community groups, organisations, and professionals are active in the Inner Forth landscapes, working on projects that contribute to building resilience. The Climate Ranger Training builds around the experience of 14 professionals working in the Inner Forth or near it, providing a small sample of roles and activities you could get involved in.
