Valuing the Inner Forth, 2011-2014
Jasper Kenter, University of Aberdeen | 2014
This research project used mixed economic and non-economic techniques to understand the value of the Inner Forth to community representatives and key stakeholders of landscape. Objectives included:
- To analyse the economic value of key ecosystem service benefits of the Inner Forth landscape and environment
- To understand how local communities perceive the Inner Forth landscape, what places and features are most valued and how management could be improved
This study was part of a series of studies commissioned by the IFLI partnership, that informed the development of the Stage 2 bid and Landscape Conservation Action Plan submitted to HLF under the Landscape Partnership Scheme programme in November 2013. The research undertaken through the studies improved the partnership's understanding of the landscape and heritage of the Inner Forth and the development of specific projects.
