This activity has facilitated discussion and learning amongst Inner Forth community groups who are involved in managing a built or natural heritage site. By supporting these groups, we have been discussing what ‘carbon net zero’ may mean for their site(s) and will inspire action to meet Scotland's Net Zero targets.
Led by Keep Scotland Beautiful on our behalf, this free training programme was open to everyone, but had a specific relevance for those involved in the management of heritage sites.
The training programmes have included two main activities which have now completed:
Climate Conversations - these were discussions about the relationship between climate change and heritage, with the opportunity to identify local priorities and network across the Inner Forth
Heritage Walk and Talks - a series of walks and talks took place at various Inner Forth heritage assets. Participants learned about potential climate risks and how to plan for adaptation at their own sites, picking up tips and support to create their own plans.
One of our Heritage Walk and Talks took place at the stunning Kinneil House, hosted by our activity partners at Keep Scotland Beautiful.
We have now concluded all of these sessions, but have produced some handy resources for any community groups, social enterprises, businesses or individuals keen on replicating these to have conversations in their own areas about climate challenges and their impacts on heritage.
