We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual who is keen to develop their skills and gain experience working in the heritage, environment, and youth and community sectors. This is a training and development role, designed for someone early in their career.

The Project Assistant will support our youth focused (14-26 years) engagement activity that enables this audience to participate in, shape and co-promote Climate FORTH. You will have day to day responsibility for the running of the Climate FORTH Young Leader Pilot, our Family Focused Outreach activity and provide support to the wider events programme.

This role is designed to provide training and development opportunities for someone early in their career and you will be well supported by the Project Officer – Community and Youth Development, and the Project Manager. However, we are looking for someone with enthusiasm for this work area and the ability to lead appropriate tasks and activities.

You will be responsible for:

Engaging young people in a range of Climate FORTH activities
Day to day running of the Young Leaders Pilot
Working with the volunteer Young Leaders to develop and run a micro-grants scheme
Day to day running of the Family Focused Outreach activity
Supporting event delivery Supporting the Project Manager with elements of grant reporting
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
Educated to GCSE/National 5 level or higher
Some knowledge of the theory and practice of delivering a project
Competent IT user (e.g. MS packages such as Outlook & Word and/or social media etc)
Ability to communicate about the project in a passionate manner
Ability to produce clear written communications
Report writing
Ability to work well as part of a team
Financial reporting including gathering information for claims.

Climate FORTH is being delivered by Inner Forth Futures, a partnership of 9 organisations, who have committed to working together with advisory organisations, stakeholders and community groups to achieve a shared vision. The project commenced its delivery phase in August 2023 and will run until July 2026. It is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund Scotland, thanks to National Lottery players. Additional funding comes from the UK Government's Shared Prosperity Fund, the Crown Estate, IFF members and the Scottish Government, through Sustrans Scotland's Network Engagement Programme.

As part of this application process you will be asked to complete an application form including evidence on how you meet the skills, knowledge, and experience listed above.

This role will require completion of a DBS/PVG/Access NI in addition to the standard pre-employment checks.
