A survey of stonemasons marks was undertaken at the Cambuskenneth Abbey bell tower over 3 days in October 2015 by the Mason’s Mark Project with the help of volunteers.
The total number of marks recorded was 497 belonging to 86 different masons. This is the second part of the report.

This publication sets out the results of all archaeological investigations undertaken by GUARD Archaeology Limited during these most recent investigations at Cambuskenneth
Abbey (September 2015).
Investigations on the Watergate and harbour revealed a surprisingly intact medieval stonebuilt structure on the edge of the Forth, and material recovered during the work included animal bone, medieval and later pottery, ceramic building materials (CBM), clay pipe, metal objects and glass.
This project was conducted on behalf of the IFLI who had secured funding for a range of eligible projects in the Inner Forth Area in 2015.
Abbots, Kings and Lost Harbours: Looking for Cambuskenneth Watergate - Report on the dig and initial findings

This report sets out the results of archaeological investigations carried out by GUARD Archaeology Limited on behalf of Stirling Council at Cambuskenneth Abbey (September 2015). The work undertaken involved community volunteers in conducting a geophysical survey, hand excavations, metaldetecting, planning, recording and finds processing.
