A Walk to the Wetlands

The area around Black Devon Wetlands between Alloa and Clackmannan is a fantastic wildlife site right on the doorstep of local people. In 2015 it was designated an RSPB reserve, and is a good place to spot species like the black-headed gull, snipe and short-eared owl.

To help more people to access the area this project was launched to create more pathways on the site, and to upgrade some of the older, existing paths, as well as installing fingerpost signs and access gates, all to ensure the area remains safe and accessible to everyone. At the end of the project over 1000 metres of new path had been constructed, with a further 525 metres upgraded.

This project links with the Alloa and Clackmannanshire Park access project, giving local people and visitors from further afield a great network of paths to help them access the Inner Forth landscape.
