From the Foreshore to Kinneil
Unfortunately this project could not be delivered through the IFLI portfolio.
This project aimed to improve links between the Kinneil Estate and Kinneil Foreshore area, helping local people and visitors to the area to get better access and enjoyment from the Forth shoreline, woodland and meadows on the site of the ex-Kinneil Colliery.
It was intended that improved links between the foreshore and Estate would promote active travel between the two sites and also widen the appeal of the layers of history in the area, including Kinneil House, James Watts' cottage, and the mining and trading history of nearby Bo'ness - we believe that the static and interactive interpretation delivered as part of the Telling the Inner Forth Story project will help to achieve this.
Did you know that the John Muir Way, the coast-to-coast walking route, passes through the Kinneil Foreshore and Kinneil Estate?
