Skills & Training
IFLI increased training and development opportunities in heritage skills.
The IFLI partnership wanted to leave a legacy of an increased number of people living, working and volunteering in the Inner Forth area with practical heritage skills. Formal training and skills development of volunteers, learners and employees is an integral part of conserving and restoring the natural and built heritage of the Inner Forth.
Skill development and training were made available to a wide cross-section of Inner Forth communities by providing specifically tailored workshops and courses for different groups.
IFLI worked through our partners and their networks to offer supported sessions in heritage skills and training for; those looking to develop skills and confidence, those looking to gain recognised qualifications, those seeking practical work experience and those keen to develop skills they wish to use as volunteers.
Developing Our Skills
We will provide access to vocational skills training, LANTRA awards, NPA, SCQF level 4 and 6, local employability awards, and student and graduate placements. Volunteers will be supported to develop and refine skills enabling them to effectively carry out heritage research and recording. We hope that the training received and skills developed, will continue to be valuable to participants beyond their involvement in the Inner Forth Landscape Initiative.
