Views into the past and present at Polmont Woods

The Antonine Wall, which passes through part of Polmont Woods, is a World Heritage Site. This project aimed to make it easier for people walking in the woods to get clear views of the Wall and appreciate its significance as an important part of Falkirk's heritage. In 2014 trees were felled and paths were cleared to allow clearer access to the wall, and the views from it. The location was choosen as it gave strategically vital views north across the Forth.

The project also improved access to a pond at the edge of the woodland and created an informal outdoor classroom that groups can utilise whilst they visit to learn more about the area's special historical and natural heritage.
